Detailed introduction
Yamaha i-PULSE M20 and M10 SMT Pick and Place Machines
Yamaha released a truly exceptional machine in early 2010. A machine that has an out of the box design concept to be the most accepted and well rounded SMT pick and place machine in the market today. A machine that has pushed the boundaries on feeder capacity, component range, accuracy, speed and PCB size and ease of use and maintenance. This is the best SMT placement machine ever made!!
Since then the machines have been revamped and now they are even better!

Introducing the i-PULSE M20
If you're looking for the next generation in SMT Automation then look no further than the iPulse M20. This feature packed machine comprises of many exciting features including its extra-large PCB handling that has never before seen in a standard footprint mounter. Extended component height along with overall dimension and capability expands the range of placeable components, making the M20 the most flexible and capable machines ever offered from iPulse.
The M20 comes available in 4 and 6 head configurations to suit capacity and technology demands. The range of feeder bank and optional tray handling configurations allows very fast product change-over where a maximum of 144 feeders can be set on feeder banks or changeable banks of 36 feeders. The 36 feeder can also be swapped with a 40 tray changer if required.
Other features include Force Control Function, allows adjustment and measurement of the downward force applied to components being placed from 5n to 60N. Placement verification uses a downward looking camera where the need for a separate after placement is eliminated for a separate after placement inspection machine.
Check out these specifications for the M20

Introducing iPulse M10
The M10 has all the features of its superior but with half the feeder capacity , the M20 represents the next generation in SMT Automation. Applying the same range of interchangeable feeder banks and tray handlers, the M10 makes an excellent complement to existing iPulse lines and a highly flexible mounter for the placement of fine pitch and tray feed parts.
The greater PCB handling permits production capability that has never before seen in a compact footprint mounter. The increased component height and overall component dimension capability expands the range of placeable components, making the M10 one of the most flexible and accomplished machines ever presented from iPulse.
Available in 4 and 6 head configurations, the M10 can be custom tailored to your needs. A maximum of 72 can be fixed on the feeder banks or on changeable banks of 36 feeders each making a fast and easy change over. The 36 feeder changeable rear bank can be swapped with a 40 tray changer. The M10 comes with new standard features such as ‘Force Control Function,’ allowing adjustment and measurement of the downward force applied to components being placed from 5N to 60N. Placement verification is another standard feature using a downward looking camera, eliminating the need for a separate after placement inspection machine.
Check out these specifications for the M10:
Feeder platform | 72 positions |
Maximum PCB size | L 740mm x W510mm |
Applicable components | 01005 (0402mm) ~120mm x 90mm (30mm height) BGA, CSP, oddform, connectors etc |
Optimum speed | 30,000CPH |
Accuracy | CHIP +/- 0.040mm IC +/- 0.025mm |
To add to this impressive specification the i-PULSE has future upgradability to hybrid functions such as AOI and dispensing.
